  • What kind of writers are you looking for?

Authors who blend raw street-smart prose with existential depth. Think Denis Johnson meets urban gothic.

The genre vs. so called, literary fiction dialectic is fraying in the publishing world—those distinctions are meaningless next to writing with guts, without commerce, with authenticity —You got any of that? We want to read it.

We’re looking for straight-up fiction; if you got voice, heart, craftsmanship, and it shows —let’s get you on board.

  • Will you publish poetry or non-fiction?

Currently fiction only, but never say never.

You got a Street Poet anthology put together? It’s badass? We want to read it.

  • Why the name “CityScape Press”?

Cities are our backdrop and muse—alive with stories, shadows, and secrets.

  • Who is the novelist Robert Cavaliere?

CityScape Press was founded by Robert Cavaliere—novelist, wanderer, and chronicler of the urban underground. A Philly guy turned modern-day literary outlaw, Cavaliere has spent years carving stories from the raw edges of city life, blending streetwise observation with existential depth.

His own novels—Night City, Carmilla, Panfried Dialogues, and Phenomena—pulse with the restless energy of neon-lit streets, haunted protagonists, and the kind of prose that lingers like cigarette smoke in a dive bar. After years navigating the publishing world’s fringes, he launched CityScape Press in July 2025 as a home for unfiltered, voice-driven fiction—the kind that traditional publishers often shy away from.

This isn’t just a business; it’s a cultural insurgency. Cavaliere built CityScape Press to amplify stories that resonate with authenticity, where the line between literary artistry and raw, unvarnished truth blurs into something electric. If you’ve ever felt like the best stories live in the shadows, you’ve found your press.

"Publishing should be as alive as the streets it comes from—no gates, no pretension, just the real thing."
    —Robert Cavaliere

  • What’s Robert Cavaliere’s writing style?

Lyrical but lean, blending poetic grit with the restless energy of Kerouac and the noir edge of Ellroy.

  • Are your books connected thematically?

Yes—each explores loss, identity, and the search for meaning in a chaotic world.

  • Will you expand beyond Robert Cavaliere's works?

Absolutely. We aim to cultivate a roster of like-minded renegade writers.

  • Do you host author events?

Yes— nothing like connecting with readers live —and it’s something these AI writers can’t well do, can they?

In late ‘25 will start hitting the circuit.

Meantime… Planning virtual readings and maybe some underground IRL happenings.

  • How can I support CityScape Press?

Buy direct, leave reviews, and shout about us on social media.

  • Are your books for “genre” or “literary” readers?

Both. We blur the lines—no elitism here.

  • What’s next from Robert Cavaliere?

    A new neo-noir thriller—details coming soon.

A follow up to Phenomena is in the works.

    The Author’s Response:

Robert Cavaliere: “I wrote two futuristic novels called Sage (2019) and Borderlands (2021). I’m translating Borderlands to Italian —as I speak Italian, and looking for publishing options in Italy.

Why? Look, if you’ve hit the pavement trying to break into the traditional five or so publishing corporate giants, you know what they care about— and it’s not new talent. So, this is why I’m pushing through with CityScape Press. It’s as much about the travesty of American publishing as about a movement… let’s call it, Straight-Up Fiction.”
